A Team Approach 

At Koontz Law, PLLC, we strive to offer each of our clients an excellent experience. In an effort to serve our clients in an empathetic, effective and efficient way we utilize a team approach to serving our clients. There is a support staff person that specializes in each area of practice within the firm. In addition to an attorney working on your case, each client is assigned a support staff team member to help assist in your legal matter.

Marti Lowery – Civil Litigation Paralegal 

What Marti enjoys most about her job is helping people when they are going through hard times. She is skilled at helping our team reach resolutions that allow our clients to move forward, in a positive direction, for themselves and their families. When Marti is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and is very proud of her two children. She also loves to travel and try out new restaurants. In addition to having over 20+ years of experience, her co-workers will say she is an excellent problem solver and a very patient person. She is very involved with her church where she enjoys volunteering her time in many different ways with other members of her church family.

Karrie Schenk – Real Estate Paralegal 

Karrie enjoys assisting our clients with the purchase of a new home or refinancing their current home for a better financial solution. Her favorite part of her job is doing property research. Her positive attitude and organization skills makes the real estate closing process easy for our clients. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family including her four fur-babies. She also enjoys sewing, and tending to her flower gardens. Anyone who knows Karrie will tell you that she is a kind and caring soul and that she occasionally snorts when she laughs. Karrie also supports Breast Cancer Awareness and the Humane Society of Davie County.

Michelle Nicholson – Office Manager/Criminal Legal Assistant

Michelle loves working at Koontz Law, PLLC because she finds it interesting, challenging, and rewarding. She also enjoys being part of a team. Her teammates would say that her cheerful demeanor and task management skills make her a great addition to the firm. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, weekend getaways, riding in her classic car, and going camping. She grew up on Long Island and moved to North Carolina in 1999 with her husband and two daughters. While she thought she would have lost her New York accent by now, it hasn’t happened yet. Michelle also supports the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
