Brandy loves helping people. She enjoys being able to use her skills to help others when they are experiencing a personal crisis.


Ms. Koontz has spent many years serving her community. Right out of college she worked for Davie County, while earning her Masters in Public Administration. She then used the skills acquired from that degree to serve as Director of Resource Development for Habitat for Humanity. While working for Habitat for Humanity, she advocated for affordable housing in Washington D.C. This experience reinforced her love of helping others and influenced her decision to go to law school.


After law school, Ms. Koontz returned home to Davie County to practice law with Mr. E. Edward Vogler, Jr. Mr. Vogler retired from private practice in 2014 and she has continued to carry on his tradition of providing competent and compassionate legal services to our community.

Attorney Koontz:

Graduated from Davie Co. High School Class of 2000

Has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Elon University and she graduated in 2004

Has a Masters in Public Administration from Appalachian State University in 2007

Enjoys hiking, kayaking, golfing, and traveling with her husband

Does not know how to twerk

Walks 5 miles a day using a treadmill desk

Brandy’s involvement in professional associations include the American Bar Association and North Carolina Bar Associations, including Young Lawyers Division, Davie County Bar, and the 22nd Judicial District Bar. She is a NCDRC Certified Mediator – Family Financial, has served as a content contributor to Davie Life Magazine, and has appeared on both Fox 8 News and WXII channel 12. Attorney Koontz has also been honored with the following recognitions:
